We arrived in Walnut Creek the following day (4th of July) in the morning and met Nick at his condo. It was nice knowing that we'd be staying put for a few days. That sounds pretty bad given we've only been on the road 4 days but still... We went shopping for some picnic stuff and then went to the Walnut Creek 4th of July celebration in the local park, which featured the Walnut Creek Concert Band and Root Beer Floats served up by the former mayors of the town. On the 5th, we went shopping for some seafood and set up the barbecue outside. Not your typical backyard barbecue but hey, this is a condo and there was no backyard. The meal was delicious. Grilled halibut with grilled corn, veggies and a big salad. Also a few bottles of wine.
