We decided to get an early start and were out of the house and on the road by 5 am. Packing was quick and efficient and when we got to Carlsbad I realized the only thing I forgot to pack was my suit, somewhat troublesome since we will be going to two weddings during this trip and I have packed only shorts, tee shirts and flip-flops. Arrived in Carlsbad at 11:30 and found Linda and Johnny already there. We relaxed for a bit and then headed to Hennessy's Irish Pub to watch the USA play Belgium in the World Cup. That didn't turn out so well, at least for the USA so we headed back to the condo for a few hours before again heading out to a local bar for "Taco Tuesday" It was 70 degrees when we got to the coast after leaving a Tucson that hit 108 yesterday. Good riddance.
We'll set out after breakfast tomorrow for Santa Barbara and eventually Solvang.
