Nick left for work and Cindy and I looked for a cafe for breakfast and then to do some shopping. Yes, that is a very unusual sentence for me to write but remember, I had forgotten my suit in Tucson and had nothing to wear for the two weddings we are going to. We asked Google where to shop in the downtown area and one of the suggestions was "Hospice Thrift Shoppe". I guess they could have called it "Someone Just Died in These Clothes" store but Cindy said these upscale communities have really nice thrift stores. Despite the pretentious "pe" at the end of Shop (I mean really, how pretentious can a thrift shop really be?) we went in and I got completely outfitted in a few minutes for an amount even I am embarrassed to tell you here. The nice thing is, here is the bag they put my clothes in:
Buying your clothes in a store called the "Hospice Thrift Shoppe" is one thing. Walking around with a bag proclaiming that fact is quite another. At least I was left with a shred of dignity. Just kidding. I had none to begin with. I was thrilled to now be ready for the weddings and not have to think about that any longer.
We headed back to the house where we are having a glass of wine and I'm catching up on my blog. We stopped first to pick up some bread and wine to go with the mussels we'll be having for dinner this evening.
